Introduction
Welcome to our Year 3 page with Miss Davies and Miss Sheldrake.
Here you will find essential information as the year progresses.

PE day and expectations
PE will be on Wednesday afternoons. Please ensure that the children wear kits to school on these days. PE kit is white t-shirt, green hoody, black shorts/leggings/joggers and trainers. All kits should be unbranded, but can have the school badge on if you wish.
School day timings
School opens at 8.45 and the school day ends at 3.30.
Attendance and expectations
It is expected that pupils will attend all classes and arrive on time. Regular attendance is crucial to succeed in school, as it will allow students to stay up-to-date with the material, engage with their peers and receive timely feedback from teachers.
It is expected that students will make every effort to attend all classes in Year 3, if they are unable to do so, please notify the school office in advance.
Home learning expectations
Homework is given out on a Friday and is due by the following Wednesday each week.
Homework will include maths and reading based on the current topics being taught.
The children will have a new spelling list each week which we will test again the following Friday. This will also be made available on their SpellingShed accounts. Here they can play interactive and engaging games based on their current list.
Some students will have some Read, Write Inc work set by their phonics teacher too.
Reading for pleasure is also encouraged. This can be anything they enjoy which is appropriate to their reading level.
Trips
As part of our enrichment and entitlement initiative, we are due to visit Delamere Forest in the summer term, as well as our pantomime in January. We are also due to travel on the Ferry to visit the Maritime Museum and learn about our River, linking to our 'Amazing Rivers' text.
